Esther moves to the city of Winlow with her uncle and aunt, since her sick brother Samuel needs the fresh air there to recover from his illness. They take care of two orphan kittens they found in the road. The town was infested with rats, so a large amount of cats were brought to exterminate them. But the number of cats increase, and they start attacking and killing the villagers. A typhoon arrives and the city is evacuated. But Esther and her brother can't get out the city...
