"Kanba Yukihiro goes to school having not a target or an aim of what he like to do. One day, on the school stairs, he suddenly feels wind blowing behind his back. Turning back, he finds a girl of a small stature runs with all her might. That was his first encounter with the troublesome group that runs everywhere inside the schools, The Stairs Club.
Kokonoe Yuuko, who looks like an elementary schoolchild, forces everyone to do as she pleases, makes people agree on her reckless way of thinking. She is also forced Yukihiro to enter the Stairs Club. He manages to make his membership on the club a temporary one and plans to do nothing till the membership period is over. His classmates and friends also see the club as an annoyance and there're unpleasant rumour about the club. Though Yukihiro feels not right about it.
The temporary membership period is over, Yukihiro come back to his usual school life, He thinks he wont be involved with anything relate to the club anymore. When the school was over, he meets again, with "stairs". It is a plain, ordinary school stairs he sees everyday. When he saw it, he feels the urge to do something.
And wind blows behind him.
The sounds of students running across the school corridor is gone, and the silence reigned over again in the school. But, his heart wont stop beating hard.
